General Group Information Purpose of the group The Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group (BRMRG) is a member of the Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference (ASRC), an emergency resource that manages and assists in the seach and rescue of lost people and aircraft throughout Virginia and its bordering states. Our organization is comprised of volunteers who dedicate extensive amounts of time for rigorous training, search missions, group function, preventative instruction, and public awareness. Training consists of both vertical and semi-technical rescue, land navigation, and wilderness first aid.

Search and Rescue Missions are generally comprised of missing elderly, alzheimers patients, small children, downed airplanes, potential suicides, as well as lost and injured hikers. We are on alert 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
